FERVITAL® Syrup

Iron - Folic acid - Vitamin B12

 

FERVITAL® Syrup is used for:

  • Treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anemia.
  • Treatment and prevention of folate-deficiency anemia.
  • Prevention of iron deficiency in pregnant women, menstruating women, premature baby or infants born from the mother with iron deficiency, patients with digestive bleeding.
  • Digestive malabsorption, inadequate dietary intake, alcoholism.

 

FERVITAL® Syrup is used for:

  • Ferric ammonium citrate ……………… 250mg (or elemental iron: 41 mg/5 ml)
  • Folic acid …………………………………. 500µg
  • Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) ……….. 5µg
  • Excipients: q.s.f ………………………….. 5ml

 

In all cases, you must strictly comply with your doctor’s prescription.

Dosage:

Curative treatment:

  • For adults and children from 30 kg (about 10 years old): 10 to 20 ml per day.

Preventive treatment:

  • For pregnant women: 5 to 10 ml per day during the second and third trimester of pregnancy or from the fourth month of pregnancy for anemia prevention.
  • For infants:
    • From 5 to 8 kg (about 1 to 6 months): 5 ml per day.
    • From 8 to 10 kg (about 6 to 12 months): 5 to 10 ml per day.
    • From 10 to 12 kg (about 12 to 30 months): 5 to 15 ml per day.

Mode of administration: Oral route. To be taken preferably before meals.

Duration of the treatment: Follow your doctor’s prescription. The therapy is generally continued until the correction of anemia, which may take from several weeks to 3 months or more to restore body-iron stores.

STORAGE: Store below 30ºC. Protect from light, heat and humidity.

 

  • Nausea, constipation or diarrhea, black or grayish-black stools.
  • Pregnancy: This drug can be prescribed during the pregnancy at therapeutic dose (recommended to prevent anemia during the second and third trimester of pregnancy or from the fourth month of pregnancy).
  • Breast-feeding: The use of this drug is possible for breast-feeding mothers.
